Something isn't right here.
Something is not as it appears.
Look around.
What you see.
Is not here.
Can not be.
Don't you see?
Images suggest something other.
Other than the brain wants to see.
So vivid, so real.
If you reached out your hand what would you feel?
Parasite conclusions, they pound at the door.
Coveted delusions lose strength, they fail and fall.
See the trees.
Watch them bleed.
Soon they'll die.
Life will leave.
You will see.
Dead boughs waving in the mist.
Windless, this movement should not exist.
Sap-stained, soulless predators unfurl.
Ungraspable presence pervades your world.
Lurking at the edge of penumbral light.
Shadowed perversity pollutes the night.
Look.
Sick horizon.
Use your eyes now.
See the skies now.
Try.
Try to see them.
See the world bend.
See a life end.
See.
See what they do.
Do they see you?
What can you do?
Know.
Know this is real.
Ignore what you feel.
Perception unreal.
This may be your end now.
Could there be a way out?
How could you escape?
You've left it all too late.
Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
