Or vivisepulture.
In a hole, to which they are dragged by the tongue.
Hundreds hauled together.

Dead and alive, all into the same pile.

No we're ready to begin.
Pits filled to the brim.
Heaped high with soil.
Flesh starts to boil in decomposing heat.
Earth-bound shrine to a higher power.
This may yet be your proudest hour.
Nostrils fill with the smell of success.
Even if that smell makes you retch.
Hold it in.
Find strength within.

Impalement, septic death, trauma to the head.
Or exsaguination.
Many die, some survive, all will become dead.
Hundreds end together.

"I don't want to die here"
Well now you're going to lie here.
"Please just let me go home"
"I just want to live alone"

Join your new family.
Rot with them to please me.
Fill the hole in the ground with the lost and the found.
Build it high in a mound so the meat will compound.

Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
